2.1 Belief

For as far back as we can trace, mankind has always been searching for the truth to two questions; firstly, ‘Is there really a God?’ and secondly, ‘If there is a God, how does that affect me?’

Philosophers, scientists, world and religious leaders have all had an opinion on what that truth is. We must find out whether or not there is any validity to the claims that there is a God that created each of us, with an intentional purpose for our lives.

In looking at the second question; the person of Jesus and the claims that He made, must be resolved. If what He claimed of Himself, what He spoke of and his life events are all true, then our lives are greatly affected, both in the present and in the future, depending on how we respond to Jesus.

If you are interested in who Jesus is then please do come to one of our Christianity Explored courses which is an informal way to find out about him. Running for an evening a week for several weeks, it allows enough time to properly consider the claims of Christ and Christianity in a relaxed environment.

Who is it for?
Anyone who wants to find out what Christianity is really about, and whether its claims are true. We assume no previous knowledge about God, the Bible, Church ... or anything! Some people come who don't know anyone at Christ Church, or perhaps have been invited by friends from the church, but have never been to any church themselves. Others may have been involved in Christ Church, or churches elsewhere, for many years, but want to have a fresh look at what the Christian message is really about.
